Day One Hundred Sixty Two

This morning Dave, Walker and I went for a 10-12 mile bike ride on the Ojai trail.  We thought by heading to Ojai we would be out of the cold and fog, but we were wrong.  Ojai looked the same as Oxnard!  We hooked up the bike trailer on Dave’s bike for Walker and off we went.  Within about 30 minutes, Walker fell asleep for a good hour while Dave and I huffed and puffed up the hill.  Thank goodness it was downhill all the way back!

In the afternoon, we met Steven, Lesley, Rick, Barb, Ethan and Evan at Pirate Park in Oxnard for some play time.  The park was busy, but not nearly as busy as it would have been had the sun been out.  This park is usually completely packed with people, kids and the smell of great food.  The kids had a blast running around the playground, sliding and swinging before the breeze blew it and cooled it off even more.

Everyone came back to our house for dinner with Barb bringing homemade spaghetti and meatballs.  It was yummy!  Bob came over to join us for dinner as Sally was in San Francisco for the weekend.  We lit a fire in our firepit and the kids spent most of the evening in the backyard playing football, cowboys and everything else little rough-and-tumble boys do.  They were filty dirty by the time dinner rolled around, but no one seemed to care.
