Day Two Hundred Seventy Four

Happy Birthday Papa Bullard!

We headed out in the morning to pick up Savannah in Fillmore.  It was a good day for potty training Walker.  The wind was blowing, the sun was out and it was a pretty nice day.  Dressed in a button-up shirt, chonies, sweat pants and his yellow rain boots, Walker was ready for the day.  But that changed when we got to Fillmore.  The breeze got a little chilly and inside Savannah’s house, the fires raged.  Kelly, his Mom and Randy were arguing.  Then Dave went in to join in the conversation.  I stayed outside with Savannah, Walker, Alana and Aerin so they could have some privacy and the kids would be out of the way.  They were in the house nearly two hours arguing/talking. In the meantime, Walker, Alana and Aerin had an absolute blast playing together.  They chased each other around, played on the trampoline and just hung out together.  Hopefully, the girls can come over some time to play with Walker in his sand box.  They’ll have a great time!  Unfortunately, Walker got so busy playing that he didn’t stop to use the potty even though I took him to the bathroom twice.  This was the first of two “accidents” today.

When we left Savannah’s house, we headed to Santa Paula for lunch at an Irish pub.  This was the second “accident” Walker had.  Apparently, he decided he didn’t want to get up and go to the bathroom (even though we asked him twice if he needed to go) so he just did his business in the chonies he was wearing.  Needless to say, it was not a good day for potty training!

After lunch, we headed to Ventura to look at a used surfboard for Savannah.  Dave ended up getting a good deal for Savannah and she couldn’t wait to use it tomorrow.  We then headed to Camarillo as Dave was looking at another surfboard for himself.  We ended up meeting a really nice couple and buying their one-of-a-kind surfboard for Dave.  Two surfboards in one day!  Hopefully, I’ll be able to take some time to learn to surf as well.  Savannah and Dave will be heading out in the morning to try out their new boards.
